Eye Bolt with Electrophoresis

Metric eye bolts in carbon or alloy steel with black or yellow electrophoretic (e-coat) finish, made to DIN 580 or to your drawing, bulk or own-brand packs.

Eye bolts are bolts with a closed round eye in place of a head. They give a fixed point for lifting, pulling, tying down or hanging, and are screwed into a tapped hole or fixed with a nut.

Linkworld supplies metric eye bolts in carbon steel and alloy steel with an electrophoretic coating (e-coat) in black or yellow. E-coat gives an even paint film over the whole eye and thread, with a clean look for equipment and hardware. Eye bolts can be made to DIN 580 or to your drawing, and we pack in bulk cartons or in your own branded packs.

Where Eye Bolts Are Used

  • Machinery and equipment lifting and handling points on housings and frames
  • Trailers and vehicles tie-down points
  • Hardware and rigging ranges anchor points for rope, chain and turnbuckles
  • Construction and fitout hanging points for services and signs

Choosing Eye Bolts

Give the thread size and length, the eye size and the finish. For lifting, the eye bolt must be marked with its rated load, used in line with the load and installed fully seated. The rated load and marking must follow the standard you specify, such as DIN 580.

E-coat suits indoor equipment and painted assemblies. For outdoor or marine use, ask for hot-dip galvanised or stainless steel eye bolts.

Common Purchasing Mistakes

Using a hardware eye bolt for lifting. Lifting eye bolts must be made and marked to a lifting standard. State this clearly on the order.

Leaving out the shank length. Short and long shank eye bolts suit different jobs. Give the thread length.

Mixing black and yellow under one code. Give each colour its own item code and label.

Ordering e-coat for marine use. E-coat is a paint finish. Choose galvanised or stainless steel for salt water.
